Jingle all the way.
We start celebrating Christmas in Geelong when the floating Christmas tree is lit – complete with a concert and fireworks display – tonight.
The Catenary star at the corner of Moorabool and Malop Strees will also be lit and the City Hall light projections will begin at 9.30pm.
Tomorrow, the Myer windows are launched at 5.00pm and this year Deakin University students have added animatronics to the display. Afterward, the twilight Gala parade will start at 7.30pm.
The Christmas program continues to expand and grow. We’ve helped our friends at Central Geelong Marketing bring 3D wall art to the city – perfect for a #GeelongChristmas Instagram post where you’re the star.
This year augmented reality has brought Christmas characters to life throughout the Central Geelong precinct via the Love Central Geelong App.
The City of Greater Geelong and Central Geelong Marketing bring the Christmas celebrations to life and make this region a special place for visitors to get into the spirit. We’ll be working with digital resources and online influencers to encourage visitors to travel to Geelong and enjoy the lead up to Christmas with all these special activities.
