Navigating through change

Change through life and in organisations is constant. It can be gradual or triggered by an event, for example, changes in government policies or economic events.
Change can bring about a wide range of feelings, both positive and negative. How change is experienced may vary according to the extent of the change, the level of uncertainty surrounding the change or individual circumstances.
Change is often unavoidable and outside of our control, but how we transition and adapt to the change is within our control. A change can happen quickly, but it can take much longer to transition to the new way of working and adapt to a change. For example, it does not take long for a new computer program to download, but it can take weeks for us to learn how to use it!
