OVERVIEW

You’re invited to join a Wadawurrung Traditional Owner to expand your knowledge of First Nations history throughout the Geelong region.

WADAWURRUNG COUNTRY

Wadawurrung People are the Traditional Owners of this land. Wadawurrung family have looked after and cared for this Country for thousands of generations and are still caring for Country to this very day.

Ancestors nurtured and cared for Wadawurrung Country for tens of thousands of years.

Acknowledge the hardships and harm that Wadawurrung People suffered following colonisation and the devastating impacts of that, which are still evident and felt today.

Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation (WTOAC) was appointed in May 2009 as a Registered Aboriginal Party (RAP). Wadawurrung Traditional Owners are the legally recognised custodians, decision makers and knowledge holders for Cultural Heritage. RAP covers over 10,000 square kilometres on the western side of Melbourne including Regional Cities of Djilang (Geelong) and Ballaarat (Ballarat).
