Geelong, The Bellarine and Moorabool Valley are home to a diverse, jam-packed year-round calendar of
events. Visitors to the region can choose from an impressive line-up of events that include everything from
music to world-class cycling, motoring and golf championships, along with seafood, beer, wine and cultural
events.

Manufacturing and industry have been synonymous with Geelong, but with many big employers
moving away or closing down, the city is reinventing itself and re-emerging as a cultural hub. Locals
are injecting life and re-purposing many of the city’s disused buildings, creating eclectic and exciting
spaces. Old woollen mills, mechanics workshops and even an old technical school are amongst a

the many local breweries.

The Moorabool Valley, located northwest of Geelong, is home to picturesque villages, rolling hills, rivers and

offerings, the new Moorabool Valley Taste Trail has just been launched, to help cement this flourishing region
firmly in the minds of gastronomic visitors. The inspiring new Taste Trail features wineries, farm gates, cafés,
restaurants, produce stores, events, markets and much more.

The regional city of Geelong, which has a strong manufacturing history, is turning over a new leaf
and emerging as a cultural tourism destination. The new $45 million nine-story architecturally
designed library recently opened its doors, there is an emergence of new galleries and the city will
play host to two world-class exhibitions and three vibrant arts and culture focused events over the coming months.
