MasterChef Finalist Simon Toohey to inspire aspiring chefs at the Visitor Economy Jobs Expo

      Geelong, 06/10/2023MasterChef finalist and host of Freshly Picked on Channel 10, Simon Toohey, will be holding a chef’s demo at the Visitor Economy Jobs Expo to inspire and encourage individuals to consider a career in the thriving tourism and hospitality industry.

      With a passion for fresh produce and fighting against food waste, Simon Toohey has captured the hearts and palates of foodies nation-wide.

      “I have been in the hospitality industry in some form or another for a long time,” Simon said. “It has taken me around the world and back again. There is so much out there for hard working, aspiring people.”

      “I am so excited to be part of the Visitor Economy Jobs Expo and look forward to meeting everyone as they start their journey!”

      Simon’s live demonstration will provide insight into the world of professional cooking and the exciting career opportunities within the hospitality industry.

      The jobs expo will take place at The Gordon TAFE on 10 October from 1-5pm, with job seekers from all stages of their career invited to attend.

      The Visitor Economy Jobs Expo is an initiative held in partnership with Tourism Greater Geelong and The Bellarine, Workforce Australia Local Jobs Barwon (funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workforce Relations), The Gordon, Skilling The Bay, and Great Ocean Road Regional Tourism.
