The latest Tourism Sentiment Index results are out and we’re on the up

      The latest Tourism Sentiment Index results are out for Q3 for Geelong and The Bellarine and they’re on the up!

      The Tourism Sentiment Index is tallied by analysing 1.6 billion global conversations to compare 21,330 destinations around the world. 

      Here are a few highlights of the highlights on how we’re tracking:

      • Greater Geelong and the Bellarine had a Tourism Sentiment Score® of 28.2 – up 17% compared to last quarter and up 34% over Q3 2021.
      • Our region’s consumer sentiment within the digital world has ranked us #52 globally – up from #69.
      • Our region performed better than the global (20.9), national (23.7) and Victorian (25.5) benchmark scores.
      • Our restaurant and dining was ranked #28 globally.
      • Our wineries were ranked #17 globally.
      • Restaurants and dining generated 32% more positive sentiment than half of the destinations around the world.
      • Accommodation generated 95% more positive sentiment than half of the destinations around the world.
      • Most loved assets (in order) were beaches, restaurants and dining, accommodation.

      Tourism Sentiment Score Explained:

      Our Tourism Sentiment Score is calculated by analysing millions of pieces of online content that have been categorised into as many as 50 tourism assets. This captures the many voices of our complete brand and is expressed through a score whether their impact is positive or negative.
